Quality Management Systems Auditor / Lead Auditor Training Course (IRCA Reference : A17399)

Introduction
•This training shall provide participants with the knowledge and experience needed to fulfil their role as a fully trained Auditor/Lead Auditor.
•This course is certified by the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) and meets the training requirement for certification of auditors under the IRCA QMS Auditor Certification Schemes.
•The course includes the 2-stage audit approach for certification of the Quality Management Systems, in conformity to the ISO 17021 standard.
•This course is updated to the ISO 19011:2011, guideline on auditing management systems.

To enhance the learning process, accelerated learning techniques have been incorporated into the programme structure. As such, delegates are required to actively participate in the group discussions, exercises and role plays. All assignments need to be completed and submitted to the course tutor for marking. The delegates' classroom and "live audit" participation will also be assessed.

  • Evening Assignments: Delegates work in teams to prepare for the "live audit" exercise


Day 2



  • The Audit Plan

  • Process Based Auditing

  • Auditing the ISO 9001:2008 requirements
    This session draws on the participants prior knowledge to audit selected requirements of the standard

  • The Audit Checklist

  • The Opening Meeting

  • Conducting the Audit
    This session provides invaluable information and guidance on how a process-based audit is carried out. Interviewing and information gathering techniques are explained.

  • Evening Assignments


Day 3



  • Generating Audit Findings

  • The Audit Report

  • The Closing Meeting

  • Corrective Action Follow-up and Surveillance Audits

  • International Registration Scheme for Certificated Auditors

  • Exam techniques and debrief on specimen exam paper


Day 4



  • "Live audit" exercise (subjected to availability of host for live audit)
    Delegates experience conducting a quality system management system audit against ISO 9001:2008 at an actual facility.


Day 5



  • Review of the "live audit"
    The tutor facilitates this session whereby feedback is given on the delegates' performance during the "live audit".

  • Course Review and Summary

  • Written Examination (2 hours*)
    *Note: additional 30 minute is given if the exam language is non-mother tongue (not the particpant's 1st language)

Pre-requisite

Participants must be familiar with the ISO 9001:2008 requirements and the following prior knowledge:
a) Knowledge of the following quality management principles and concepts:



  • The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle.

  • The relationship between quality management and customer satisfaction.

  • Commonly used quality management terms and definitions and the 8 Quality Principles as given in ISO 9000.

  • The process approach used in quality management.

  • The Model of a Process Based Quality Management System, the structure and content of ISO 9001.
